Here are a few successful strategies and suggestions that
will help you
and your family to
have a great school year.
Scale back TV time.
Remember to control the quantity and quality of TV viewing.
Reestablish bed times.
Make sure that your child gets plenty of rest.
Develop a schedule. Plan
adequate time for play, homework, sports, and other activities.
Establish a homework routine.
Designate a time, a quiet place, and the necessary supplies for success.
Check Homework. Monitor
your child's homework on a daily basis, and help when needed.
Talk about school. Engage
your child in daily conversations about school and other activities.
Watch the TV News together.
Discuss current events and relate school when possible.
Have your child read.
Good readers make good thinkers!
Support your school. Get
to know your child's teacher, principal, etc.
Support your child. Treat
each child as an individual. Don't compare them to someone else.
Recognize hard work, be patient, and above
all, let them know every day
that you love them. (No Matter What!)
Best Wishes for a Great School Year!
